Basically i’m creating a basic carbon footprint calculator concentrating mainly on appliances. In order to do the final calculations, i need my units to be in kWh/yr per appliance (after asking the user one or two questions). I’m stuck up to microwaves. I’ve collected various information:
New Power on demand (Watts): 0.95
New Standby Power demand (Watts): 1.37
So does anyone have any idea how i could get these figures into kWh/yr? the statistics also confuse me also as it is to my knowledge that most microwaves are 600W or 800W, so i’m also not realy sure what those statistics mean. But if that is the case and i can calculate it into kWh/yr from the 600/800 W figures then how would i apply this to other appliances in which the amount of Watts they use is not as widely known?
Also it is to my knowledge that the figure in kWh/yr should average around 100 if that helps?
