Despite the latest developments regarding methodological harmonisation, a main challenge for labelling is to provide enough specificity to enable a consistent comparability of carbon footprints through the development of product rules. In order to address these challenges, the government of Quebec launched a pilot project as a first step in the implementation of a M carbon footprint labelling initiative. Aiming to create an initiative with solid foundations based on international best practices, the Quebec government joined forces with CIRAIG. The pilot project will compare different protocols to assess result reproducibility. This will contribute to the advancement of environmental labelling.
