Our technology helps households and business contribute towards lowering the country’s carbon emissions. It transforms electrical appliances like fridges, air-conditioners and heaters into smart devices that respond to changes on the national grid to improve its efficiency and save carbon, energy and money. ———————- We are a visionary clean technology company that delivers innovative solutions for the reduction of carbon emissions from electricity generation. We have developed a patented series of unique dynamic demand technologies that help promote a sustainable approach to electricity generation, transmission, distribution and consumption. RLtec works with appliance manufacturers, industrial consumers, national grid operators and governments to ensure that dynamic demand takes its place at the heart of plans to reduce carbon emissions. Recently Sainsbury’s joined forces with RLtec in world first Smart Grid Technology deal. With government legislation to enforce carbon emission measurement on the horizon, organisations need to start seriously considering the ways in which they will measure, report on and reduce their carbon emissions. Despite predictions to the contrary, this does not have to be an expensive exercise. Organisations already capture most of the information they need to calculate carbon emissions. They just generally do this through a variety of systems. For example, procurement systems can identify how much fuel is used in vehicles, and the cost and kilowatts of electricity used, while travel and expense systems may capture the distance and cost of air travel. Because TechnologyOne customers use our fully integrated enterprise solutions, they are easily able to capture this information and compile it into a format that effectively represents their carbon footprint. When organisations normally measure and report information, it’s historical so they cannot address any identified problems. With TechnologyOne Business Intelligence, not only can an organisation meet its reporting requirements, it can also look at information in real-time so that it can adjust its behaviour to start reducing carbon emissions immediately. But it is not just about reducing emissions; there can be real and direct benefits to an organisation. By acting on this kind of information, organisations can see where there is waste and act accordingly. Real cost savings can be achieved by reducing inputs, such …
Tracking Our Footprint follows families in the United States, India and Cameroon to examine how energy is used in three economies: industrialized, emerging, and developing. This documentary explores options to manage carbon emissions from energy use while providing adequate access to energy for the worlds growing populations.
favoritemovies.ws Alien Zlog and his side kick Asbo are back and on the look out for our carbon footprints. They find the ‘higher ups’ frown upon the footprints of the ‘lower downs’, especially when they are ‘holidaying’. Asbo visits the beach to find out more. Zlog and Asbo feature on WORLDbytes, the online magazine news channel created by WORLDwrite volunteers. It aims to get behind the headlines and promote a people-first perspective on a wide-range of issues; the programme’s credo is “don’t shout at the telly, change the message on it”. See
Window Energy Ratings (WER) Global warming is literally a hot topic at the moment, with protecting the environment and saving energy on everyone’s minds. To help cut energy use in homes, the government set up the Energy Saving Trust who were tasked with delivering a reduction in carbon emissions. Windows can account for up to 23% of heat loss from our homes, which is why it is so important to ensure that your replacement windows are as energy efficient as possible. Starglaze is committed to helping you to reduce your carbon footprint, and can offer C, B and A rated windows. In order to obtain the ratings, we manufacture all of our double glazed units with Super Spacer bar, which utilises warm edge technology to make the unit more thermally efficient. The units are also filled with an inert gas, such as argon; and we use a very high quality, low emissivity glass. Take a look at some of the benefits you could receive by having energy saving windows installed: •High performance - a standard E rated window can have up to 94% more energy loss than a C rated window. •Quantifiable benefit - up to 23% reduction in heat loss from the home. •Credibility - rating claims are easily checked on the BFRC web site. •Pay back - rising heating bills make it easier to demonstrate savings. •Saves money - Energy Saving Recommended windows offer significant reductions in fuel cost for homeowners. If you would like more information on WER and energy saving windows, please download our …
Tom Rand is behind the building of the Planet Traveler Hotel in Toronto. This hostel is expected to use 75% less energy that a conventional commercial building. With the help of solar panels, heat pumps, LED lighting and other energy saving features, this building will not only reduce carbon emissions but will make money while doing it. The energy saved from each of the clean technologies is expected to pay for each of their costs within a few years.
Increasing pressures on organisations to save costs together with the impending impact of the CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme means you need to quickly gain an understanding of your current usage and how the scheme will affect your organisation if you do nothing. To help you meet these challenges BT has developed the Carbon Assessment QuickStart Service which will analysis your current usage and advise you how to reduce cost in your organisation by applying practical carbon management solutions. It will show you your current carbon footprint providing tried and tested recommendations that support your business case to reduce carbon and cost. Once the assessment is completed BT will work with you to prioritise areas of carbon and cost reduction, focussing on those which will bring clear business benefits. You will be provided with a report on which to base your strategy for carbon management in the light of current legislation. BT itself has reduced it’s own carbon emissions by fifty eight per cent since 1996 and has one of the most ambitious corporate carbon reductions in the world aiming to reduce its global carbon stabilisation intensity by eighty per cent by the year twenty twenty. It is that expertise and experience that BT has used to transform its own business. You could be benefiting from this with BTs Quick Start service. Delaying could be costly both from potential fines and energy costs — let alone your businesses impact on the environment - so speak to BT today.
