The horse fly got its name, Scaptia (Plinthina) beyonceae , on account of its booty-ful diva feature — a big gold butt and for being the “all-time diva of flies,” according to researchers. “It was the unique dense golden hairs on the fly's abdomen that led me to name this fly in honor of the performer,” says the Australian Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization's Bryan Lessard
