What are some current events where people are interacting with the environment?

I need to be able to explain what the event is and how the people are affecting the environment through it. Please help!

I don’t know if this is what you are looking for but certainly the floods in Pakistan, mudslides in Vietnam, fires in Russia, and flooding or droughts throughout the US are examples of people interacting with the environment. People (and animals) are affected by the devastation that is happening around them. Not only are lives and property lost, but often there is no place to "start over" (like growing a garden, building homes, having land for animals to graze on, etc.) I hope this is what you wanted.
